The village for is found 20 klm from Heraklion, the capital of Crete, and only 5 minutes from the popular tourist city of Hersonisos which is the Capital of our area. The permanent residents of Analipsi are not more than 1000 but however our small village have plenty of life, even at the winter time. The summer months the village is submerged by hundreds visitors who hosting at the local hotel groups ,but also from the widest region of Hersonisos (Hersonisos, Anissaras, Gouves) all the visitors are satisfied with the hospitality and they say the best for our village
Ano Hersonissos is 26 kilometres east of Heraklion and about 2 kilometres south of coastal Hersonissos. Ano Hersonissos is a small village which retains its traditional character and must be distinguished from coastal Hersonissos, which is flooded with tourists every summer. Aposelemi Gorge starts at one kilometer south of Aposelemi wetland and ends at the area called Kserokamares in Kalo Chorio district It is 3800m long, and is one of the most precious natural ecosystems that exist in Gouves municipality. It contains a plethora of fauna and flora and has some very interesting geological formations.
Upon the rocky cliffs of the gorge, birds of pray lay their eggs, while the geological diversity and fertility of the earth promote the growth of lush vegetation.
At the south exit of the gorge an old bridge stands, which was used in the past to cross the river, facilitating access between the communities living in the region.
Over the last few years Gouves municipality has been promoting conservation in the gorge and protecting wildlife in the region.

The wetland of Aposelemis is found in the eastern side of Kato Gouves settlement between Analipsi village at east and Gouves to west and by a distance of 19 km from Heraklion town.
It is shaped by the estuaries of the Aposelemis river, which starts its flow from the plateau of Lasithi and meets the sea at Kato Gouves
. It covers a total extent of about 80 acres, forming a rare biotope, unique of its kind, that hosts numerous birds. The estuaries of the river overflow with winter rains (end October up to early April). At the end of the rainy season, the water in the estuaries is evaporated leaving small lakes. The region has been impressed in a scale 1:500 and has been characterized by the Address of Forests of Heraklion as a wildlife reserve. It is reached by a dirt road, from Gouves and from Analipsi, allowing easy access to visitors.At the end you can see the
