Koufi, a small village in the Municipality of Lappaion, of the prefecture and county of Milopotamos -  Rethimno, and is built on a hill with an impressive view in all directions.

 

Lately, a large number of houses and common use areas are being refurbished, showcasing the village’s traditional character. Inside and around the village there are many churches, country chapels and Venetian remains.

Despite its isolated location, Koufi has become popular in recent years, as a result of the activities of the village’s cultural society in many areas. One of the spiritual children of Koufi is Yiannis Dalenzas, the great writer from Rethymno. Other villages in the closer area are Episkopi, Argiroupolis, Miriokefala, Vilandredo.
