Ο μονόχωρος, καμαροσκέπαστος ναός του Αγίου Γεωργίου στον Αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Μήθυμνας, κοντά στα Νοπήγεια Κισάμου, κτίστηκε κατά το πρώτο μισό του 15ου αιώνα, στη θέση Υστερορωμαϊκού λουτρού. Ένα μέρος των τοίχων του λουτρού είναι ενσωματωμένο στην τοιχοποιία του ναού.
Ο διάκοσμος σώζεται αποσπασματικά και είναι έργο καλής ποιότητας του α΄ μισού του 15ου αιώνα. Ιδιαίτερο εικονογραφικό ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζει η απεικόνιση της Αγίας Τριάδας στο ανατολικό τύμπανο με τη μορφή του τριπρόσωπου και αντί του Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου, της παράστασης του οσίου Παχωμίου με τον άγγελο, που φέρει το μοναχικό σχήμα.

On the eastern side of the Gulf of Kissamos, are a couple of quiet beaches at Nopigia. In Nopigia, there is an attractive camping site on the waters edge where you can use the swimming pool, camper or not, for the price of a coffee or snack. Faces north.
In front of Nopigia village lies the vast beach, which stretches to the west up to Kissamos (The beach is located 5 kilometer east of the town of Kissamos and at 36 kilometer distance of Chania). They are a mix of pebble and rock and in some places the beach become deep quite quickly - perfect for scuba-diving. The beach is clear with shallow waters in other parts. Nopigia village is just off the beach, thus you will find all the necessary touristic facilities there, such as umbrellas, showers, restaurants and accommodation. Nopigia is an ideal choice for holidays in a tranquil environment.If you walk to the east, the beach becomes rockier and more secluded. There are several pebbly and rocky coves to the east.
Κατοίκηση στη θέση πιστοποιείται από τον 5ο αι. π.Χ. Οικοδομικά λείψανα των ρωμαϊκών χρόνων (υδραγωγείο, θέρμες, περίβολος), ανήκουν κατά μία απόψη σε αρχαία πόλη ονομαζόμενη Μήθυμνα. Επίσης στο λόφο Τρουλλί Ρόκκας λαξεύματα για τη θέση αρχαίων οικιών μαρτυρούν οικισμό που θα ήταν το επίνειο της αρχαίας πόλης στα Νοπήγεια.
Drapanias is a seaside village by Kissamos city, west Crete, with some tourist development in recent years, and along the beach road (see Drapanias beach) there are a few cafes and tavernas where you can enjoy a drink or meal by the sea.
Situated 35 kilometers far from Chania, at the West, 4 kilometers before arriving to Kastelli, Drapanias is a small village 1 kilometer far from the sea. It is a beautiful village with some Ottoman constructions as the tower and the well, and two churches, the one dedicated to Jesus Christ being at the entrance of the cave “Makry Spilio” (“long cave”, in Greek).
The village is well known for its Venetian Villa Trevizan.

There are some local tavernas in the village and just ten minutes by car will take you to the port of Kissamos with a choice of tavernas and shops, plus banking and medical facilities. Nopigia is situated 35km from Chania Airport .The beach is mostly pebbly which becomes soft sand as you enter the azure water. A larger sandy beach with sunbeds and restaurant facilities is just 500m away and the famous beach of Falassama is less than 20 minutes by car. The area is quiet and rural with excellent coastline walks with the sea on one side and mountains on the other. The bus stop is less than 50m away and buses run every each hour to Chania, or the lively port of Kissamos.The surrounding area should not be missed and renting a car would give you the freedom to visit many local attractions. There is an ancient amphitheatre 500m away that puts on Greek productions in the summer months. The famous Samaira Gorge is 45 minutes away, Limnopoulis Water Park 30 minutes and beautiful beaches just a short drive away.
