Vritomartis Beach is a small pebble beach between Filaki beach to east and Chora Sfakion village to west. The bay is formed at the end of a small gorge which starts about 1km northern.
Vritomatis Beach (and the Filaki beach) is the only official nude beach in Crete. The beach is affected by the southern winds and has no accommodation or other facilities.
You can reach the beach by foot from Chora Sfakion or by car easily.

The beach Filaki is located on the south coast of Crete, close to Chora Sfakion village and 79km south from Chania town.
To get to the beach, at about 500 m before entering Chora Sfakion you’ll see a road to the left which takes you to Hotel Vritomartis. On the left of this street you’ll see another small street which will take you to the beach. The hotel and the beach is nudist friendly (and is the only one of this kind in Greece). Filaki Beach (and the small Vritomatis Beach some hundred meters to west) is the only official nude beach in Crete. While the nudist-friendly beaches can briefly turn into clothing-required beaches – particularly in July and August – Filaki Beach is a nude beach during the entire summer season. The beach is separated into two parts: half for naturists, half for everyone else. There’s also a shuttle bus running from the hotel to the beach at regular intervals.
On the beach you’ll find a bar (operated by the hotel). You can also rent umbrellas and sun beds. If you feel like exploring the surrounding waters, you can rent a canoe.
