Keramoti

The beach at Keramoti bay, between the beaches of Sfinari in north and Elafonisi to south, can be reached by walking to the edge of the cluster of bamboo, where almost all year round water falls from the natural mountain springs into the sea, offering a wonderful experience of sight and sound.

The beach is located 2,5km far from Keramoti Village, 73km southwest from Chania city and 35 from Kissamos.

It is a large and pebbly unorganised beach with rocks in places, quite unknown to everybody, except the locals. There are no touristic facilitities on the beach, making it a good choice for staying remote. There are some rooms to let in the villages of Keramoti and Livadia.

Discover the magic of the secluded and wild Cretan landscape at the beach of Xotikospilio, on the road toward Elafonisi .It’s best not to take your car to the beach, but to leave it on the plateau, 150m before the shore.

The beach is located 1km north of Keramoti beach and 3km from Keramoti village. The distance from Chania city is 72km and from Elafonisi 28km

This unknown secluded beach is shaped in a small wild cove, surrounded by the wild Cretan landscape. The beach has big round pebbles and there are absolutelly no facilities nearby. This is ideal for snorkelling and remote holidays.

The beach is named after the small cave next to it. You can visit that and see the small chapel that is built in the cave.

Livadia 2708 hits

Livadia village is located in Innahorion municipality, in the south-Western part of Crete, at a distance of 72 km from Chania and 31 km from Kissamos. The village is located in the middle of the European hiking path E4 – a seaside route of exceptional natural beauty - that starts at the village of Kambos and continues through the villages of Livadia, Chrissoskalitisa and Elafonisi.

The route is typical of the rugged beauty of Crete with amazing changes of the scenery between olive and locust trees and sea-beaten rocks of black and red volcanic lava.In the village of Livadia, buying food is still done in the traditional way – you may buy fish from the fishermen in the small harbour, vegetables, dairy products and meat from the farmers, but you will also find three small taverns. There is a mini-market in the village of Kefali and larger supermarkets in the villages of Platanos and Kissamos. A gas station is located about 11 km away in the village of Elos. Quite simply, Livadia are for those who really do want to get away from it all and visit the simplest of villages. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the coastline a spectacular mix of rugged rocks, coves and unforgettable beaches. It has a tiny harbour from where you could join local fisherman or hire a simple boat for fishing or exploring the many secluded beaches of this unspoilt and quiet region.
