Anissaras

It's a small village just 3 Km from lively Hersonissoswith beautiful sandy beaches. The beach of Anissaras, a sandy beach close to the popular and well developed tourist resort of Kato Gouves, is found 20 kilometres far from Heraklion at the East. Open to the Cretan Sea, the beach is affected by the northern winds. The seabed is partly rocky, which makes it suitable for snorkelling. Well organised, close enough to Heraklion and the tourist resorts of Kato Gouves and Chani Kokkini, the beach covers all the needs of the visitors in accommodation and food and drink. Facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sunbeds, umbrellas ) and sea sports are also available. The end of the beach is much less crowded, so if you like being isolated, you may find the place it fits you at this part of the beach. Access from Heraklion is possible by public bus, running regularly, taxi from Heraklion and rented and private car and motorbikes.

Sarandaris West beach 370 hits
Sarantaris is the name of the eastern coastal area right after the natural port and the main beach of Hersonissos, to the north. The area is characterized by a series of small lovely coves, named "Limanakia" (which means the small ports).

It is a peacefull location among oil tree fields, consisting mainly of private houses and holiday resorts, while a few restaurants, car rentals, mini markets, a bar and a  fish tavern can be found on the beach road to Anissaras.

Sarantaris in Hersonissos is one of the few famous summer resort zones of northern Crete, due to its calm, crystal clear and turqouise waters. The beaches facing east are wind protected throughout the season, as the wind in Crete blows mainly from northwest directions.

Sirius Apartments stand exactly 80 meters before the beach, as you reach Sarantaris Area from the city centre, with plenty of supermarkets and car rentals on the way (Dimokratias Street). Hersonissos Port's centre is seperated from the apartments by the grounds of one of Crete's top luxury resort hotels and its Convention Center.

The main beach and Hersonissos Port's seaside street for pedestrians begins right after Creta Maris Hotel & Convention Center, with peaceful restaurants and cafes -many of them oriental- at about 5 minutes walk from the apartments. The bars,  the night clubs and plenty more shops, restaurants and cafes are yet a little further walk on the Port's seafront.

Limanakia 360 hits

Limanakia beaches are located 26 km east of Heraklion City and close to Hersonissos or Limenas Hersonissou. Limanakia is a collection of tiny, sandy beaches affected by the north winds.

These beaches are not organized; accommodation, food and drink can be found in nearby Hersonissos. With no facilities at all, except for some umbrellas here and there, you will be able to enjoy the natural environment and the crystal clear sea. Due to the small size of the beaches and the lack of facilities they are fairly quiet. The beach area is better accessible from Hersonissos by foot.
