Mount Kedros (Greek: Όρος Κέντρος), is a mountain on the island of Crete in Greece. It is located southwest of the Ida massif with which it forms the two flanks of the Amari Valley. Mount Kedros is conical-shaped and made of limestone.

Its landscape abounds with canyons and rock cliffs and is almost barren, with dry scrubs and phrygana being the major forms of vegetation. Kedros grows endemic or rare flowers such as tulips, anemones, corn marigolds, turban buttercups, tassel hyacinths, orchids<, etc, and provides ideal conditions for the nesting of falcons as well as larger birds of prey such as griffon vultures, golden eagles and .

Owing to the significance of its flora and fauna, Mount Kedros is a node of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas. An E4 mountain footpath climbs up to the highest peak of the site. A belt of villages collectively known as the Kedros villages are built at altitudes ranging between 400 and 600 m.

Situated on the south side of Mount Kedros, this village has a lot of water, hence its name Krya Vryssi which means Cold Spring.

The village is on the 45th km of the road Rethymnon-Timbaki. The new settlement of Nea Krya Vryssi is just 1 km away , on a slightly lower level, i.e. 440 m above sea-level.

However the main village is a bit further back and almost hidden from the main road. The church dominates the village square along with a large and popular kafenion which also serves as a small mini market. It doesn’t take much for the villagers to come out and gather on the village square and have a chat or party.

There is a war museum as this village was particularly had hit during the war. This is largely an agricultural village and there are still many donkeys and 3 wheeler vehicles which double as a plough when not being used for transport. There is a very pleasant kafe-bar in the lower part of the village where one can spend a pleasant evening watching the sun set over the sea from the back terrace or during cooler times enjoy the interior of this lovely stone building. Approximately 14 kms from Agia Galini and the coast.
