Στη μεγαλύτερη νησίδα υπάρχουν ερείπια φάρου που είχαν χτίσει οι Αγγλοι.
Νοτιοδυτικά των νησίδων, και σε απόσταση περίπου 50 ναυτικών μιλίων υπάρχει το μεγαλύτερο βάθος της Μεσογείου (5220 μέτρα) ονομαζόμενο και "φρέαρ των Οινουσσών". Εκεί γίνονται έρευνες από το Εθνικό Αστεροσκοπείο Αθηνών για τα νετρίνια και τη γέννηση του σύμπαντος
