Skafi village is situated at a slope of a 1350 m high mountain, 2 km from Kabanos Village in West Crete. The Skafi area has additional the villages of Pera Skafi, Lakiana and Tsagariakos. With rich vegetation and hidden from the central road Chania - Sougia it is a special place for hiking. Anatoliko Sélino is a municipality on the south coast and it is part of the Selino province which covers much of the mountain and coastal region west of Sfakia.The other villages of the Sougia Valley area include Rodovani, Skafi, Sougia, Temenia, Epanochori.
